Dear Mrs. Karina Duvall,
I am a Brazilian citizen living in Europe, and I am married in Russia to a Russian woman (ZAGS located in Saint Petersburg).
I already have an appointment in this same ZAGS to terminate the marriage on the next month. The end of the marriage is consensual from both parties, and has no children, and no assets to divide, so it is a simple case.
Do I necessarily need to be there in person to sign it and terminate the marriage, OR, is it possible that a lawyer or person appointed by me could do it on my place?
The reason why I want this, is to avoid the need to travel, as I don´t live in Russia.
In case of a positive answer, could you do it for me? What would be the total costs for this service?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
You can authorize an attorney (I can do it for you) to represent you in ZAGS, but you have to provide the power of attorney on time. If you (or your attorney) do not not appear, ZAGS will deny your application. So, where you located and how many days you need to provide the power of attorney? Do you have Russian consulate around you? You can sign the power of attorney in front of notary public plus apostille, but I need extra time in this case to arrange Russian translation in St. Petersburg.
