Many of you follow me and know that I, being an international lawyer, specialize in International divorce cases with the Russian party, regardless of the spouses' residence. I am handling many cases and helping thousand people to resolve their matrimonial problems.
Usually, men are interested to get divorce in Russia, because in many cases this allows them to avoid or minimize paying of spousal support, or to avoid or postpone equitable distribution, and, most importantly, to get single. The divorce means that joint regime of ownership is terminated; that your spouse cannot become your heir; and many other privileges. Therefore, the speed of obtaining a divorce is valuable. Speed is also important for some women, who have an income.
In all cases, usually, if there are no obvious violations of the law upon a divorce in Russia, foreign courts recognize Russian divorce. It looks like this (below, here is an excerpt from one of American court order):
The Court finds that Defendant has filed an Affidavit together with Judgement granting a divorce in Moscow, Russia. The Court therefore finds that Complaint for Divorce should be dismissed. Upon careful and independent examination and analysis, the Court applies appropriate rules of law in reaching a judgement. Therefore the Court adopts the Decision, and approves and enters the same as matter of record. The Court further finds there is no error of law or other defect on the fact of the Decision, and incorporates by reference the findings and Decision. Any temporary orders are terminated. The decision of the court constitutes a final and appealable Order. The Clerk of this Court is ordered to comply with Civil Rule, and serve upon all parties’ notice of judgement and date of Entry upon journal. Court costs assessed to Plaintiff, for which judges plus interest is granted.
Many people think that a divorce is stress, nerves, and huge expenses. But the divorce can be viewed differently. Divorce is the beginning of a new life, freedom and independence, with new perspectives and discoveries.
