Sarah is an experienced family Barrister with a particular interest in international cases. She has a wide experience of jurisdictional disputes and conflicts of law issues under various international conventions, both in relation to financial and children cases.
Her significant experience lies in dealing with the practical sides of family litigation in an international setting including assets held abroad, witnesses abroad, service out of the jurisdiction, the instruction of foreign experts, freezing orders and disclosure.
Sarah has been instructed in cases involving the consideration of prenuptial agreements as well as applications for further financial provision following divorce under the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984.
She is also frequently asked to advise in relation to cross border issues of enforcement.
In relation to children, Sarah is frequently involved in applications to remove children from the jurisdiction of England and Wales as well as Hague Convention cases.
She is a fluent Spanish speaker and speaks basic French.
She has written for a variety of publications including International Family Law, Resolution’s magazine “Review”, the AEAFA [Spanish Family Lawyers’ Association] magazine as well as online for Family Law Week.
She is a regular speaker at conferences including for the IBA, Resolution and the British Spanish Law Association as well as seminars for English and overseas lawyers
